News and Events
The Prince William Art Society holds monthly meetings at the Tall Oaks Community Center, 12298 Cotton Mill Drive in Lake Ridge, Virginia on the fourth Monday of most months. We break for the summer in July and August, and for the winter in January.
Following the business portion of the meeting from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm, the membership enjoys a brief refreshment period, then hosts a presentation by an artist. Presentations range from seminar format to demonstrations, and include all mediums and styles of visual art, both two and three dimensional.
These programs are free and the public is warmly invited to attend. Additional driving directions are available on our Contact page.
The PWAS President's Comments:
This year we are offering some new shows to augment our usual Tall Oaks and Occoquan art shows. We are partnering with the Woodbridge Women’s club for a show on May 6, and we have joined another local club, “p-ART-ners” for a juried show at the Manassas City Hall.
We are putting together some workshops and getting outside for some Plein Air painting.
All in all, 2017 is looking like it will be a banner year for PWAS. We have some new officers on the board and the energy level is high. Please check us out on Facebook if you haven’t already.
Looking forward to seeing soon.
President Prince William Art Society
Each month from February to June and September to November, the Prince William Art Society provides programs featuring Fine Artists sharing their skills in a variety of ways including lectures, demonstrations and exercises. Doors open at 7:30 pm for a business meeting, followed by light refreshments with the program beginning about 8:00 pm. The evening is free and open to the public, who are cordially invited to attend.
In addition to these regularly scheduled programs, we participate in local shows and often host our own art shows. Two examples are our participation in a county Arts Council show at the Hylton Center and our presentation of a members-only show at the Tall Oaks community center. We periodically organize workshops and field trips, and participate in fundraising efforts to offer scholarships to youth artists in our community. Members of the general public who would like to sample some of these activities or consider membership are invited to join us at one of our regularly scheduled open meetings on the fourth Monday of the eight months we meet.
